Trollstigen translates as "The Troll's Path." According to Norwegian folklore, trolls lived among these wild mountains and turned to stone when exposed to sunlight.
As you travel through the dramatic landscape, surrounded by waterfalls, cliffs and mist-covered peaks, it is easy to understand how these stories originated.
When road and weather conditions permit, the journey continues down the famous serpentine road, offering a completely different perspective from below.

The final scheduled stop is Trollstigen Gjestegård, where you can meet some friendly troll figures, explore the surroundings and purchase refreshments or a traditional Norwegian soft ice cream when available.
